The Al Pacino Story

My friend, Eric Winick asked to record my Al Pacino story for his website:  http://www.yarnaudioworks.com.  Some of you are all too familiar with this story.  For many years it was the only story I told.  I stopped telling it about ten years ago because I was beginning to bore even myself.  Now, thanks to Eric,

Engaging Shaw to be read in Manhattan

Engaging Shaw, one of my personal favorites, has been selected for a preliminary reading at Abingdon Theatre Company in Manhattan, on Monday, 23 February, at 7:00 p.m. The theater is located at 312 West 36th Street (between 8th & 9th Avenues). The reading is free to the public and there will be a

Matchmaker’s Guide on Amazon

The DVD of The Matchmaker’s Guide to Controlling the Elements is now available through Amazon.com, which is very exciting, despite the insanely low royalty Amazon offers. Here’s what I recommend: buy the thing at the store on JohnMorogiello.com or JTBurianTheatricals.com (it’s the same price as Amazon, but my percentage is higher), then visit

JohnMorogiello.com

I’ve completely redesigned my professional website, JohnMorogiello.com. I could no longer pretend that I looked like the 27 year old in the headshot. Explore. Let me know if you find any mistakes, or unnavigable sections.

Matchmaker’s Guide

Just in time to be too late for the holidays, I finally worked out all of the problems with the DVD of The Matchmaker’s Guide to Controlling the Elements. It is currently for sale here. At $10, it is the perfect gift for those you don’t want to spend too much money on,

Home Video

This is an old home video from 1995. My son, who was only 21 months old at the time, was obsessed with The Who. We listened to them and watched them every day. Sometimes he would sing along or drum to them, but more often than not he would “Do Pete.”

VP Debate Prediction

Yes, I am a paragon of pessimism, paranoia, and other negative things that begin with P. But here’s what I see happening: Palin, as expected, makes a bunch of mistakes in a cute way and is forgiven for them, because everyone knows she’s unqualified. Biden makes one small slip-up, or perceived slight,

Baseball playoffs

Here are my dream scenarios for the world series:
1) Joe Torre’s Dodgers defeat the Red Sox. This would be the sweetest one. Former Red Sox who had been ill-used by management (Nomar, Manny, Lowe) would get revenge, and the Steinbrenners would weep bitter tears for treating Torre so deplorably. Not to

Debate 1

I originally posted this on Facebook. I reprint it here:
Well, I thought Obama was amazing. McCain made no obvious mistakes, but Obama had much more substance and clearly “understood” the issues. He provided plans, while McCain merely claimed familiarity or mischaracterized Obama’s record.
Is it me, or did McCain often look angry? Obama stayed cool

More politics

Here’s how I see it. Worst case scenario: McCain is elected. Dies in office. Palin becomes president. Rapture! Then Pelosi becomes president and, rather than forging a new path for the country, decides to pursue the McCain/Palin policies through a series of tepid retreats and failures, which she believes
